Okay, we’re going to keep this short and sweet. Apparently a little over two weeks ago, I had a little brain episode. They thought it was night terrors, but after being “gone” the next day, it came back overnight. This one was a WEE bit worse. As in, I went to the hospital that Wednesday night and didn’t really realize I was there until Friday morning. Needless to say, my wife was in a bit of a panic, but she did everything she needed and then some. Seriously…she was amazing! So, Friday afternoon they are telling me that I’m going to need brain surgery on Saturday morning. I’m like whatever they want to tell me to do, I’m just going to do it. The docs know best and I’m on board for whatever they are going to suggest. Special thanks to Dr. Amene and her team for doing what they do!
Had the surgery on Saturday and spent most of the day recovering. Then rested on Sunday with pretty much the same storyline. Started to feel a little better on Monday and was hoping to escape. However, the real day to get away was Tuesday. Drove home and chilled for the day (and by chilled, I mean I mostly laid around). Have been slowly working my way back towards normal (still have a ways to go). It’s now been a week later and I’m starting to feel partway back to normal. Still have a ways to go before I’m all the way back (my head is not 100% yet…which of course makes sense since there are still multiple staples in it).
Plans going forward? We’ll probably take another week or two downtime in order to recover and then slowly start building back up. Fingers crossed that all will go well on the recovery. In which case, I’ll be back writing with some positives and some less positives (aka “back to normal”) for awhile. If things go less well on Thursday, we’ll make some adjustments and hopefully get it under control (but am definitely pulling for the positive outlook).
Tell then…
Wish you a speedy recovery, happy to hear that everything went well
